Michelle Conn

Michelle Conn is a children’s book author and illustrator living on Wadawurrung Country in Victoria. In 2024, she was shortlisted for the Children’s Book Council of Australia’s New Illustrator Award for her debut picture book, Raised by Moths, which was also recognised as a CBCA Notable Picture Book.

With a background in graphic design, illustration and primary education, Michelle brings warmth, imagination and a deep understanding of childhood to her storytelling. She holds a Bachelor of Design from the College of Fine Arts in Sydney and has worked across print, corporate illustration and teaching.

When she’s not creating magical worlds for children, Michelle can be found exploring the rugged cliffs of Jan Juc, knitting by the fire, or dreaming of life in a lighthouse.
