Kerri Day

Queensland-based author Kerri Day writes gentle, lyrical picture books that evoke emotional connections to childhood, family and the natural world. Her books Beside the Sea, illustrated by Jess Racklyeft (Windy Hollow Books, 2022), and Run Pups Run, illustrated by Nikky Johnston (Windy Hollow Books, 2023), were both named CBCA Notable Early Childhood Books of the Year.

Her stories are created to be joyful shared experiences for families, encouraging readers and listeners to explore language, emotions and imaginative thinking, while also inspiring illustrators to build rich visual worlds around her words.

Outside of writing and reading, Kerri enjoys spending time with her grandchildren, photography, bushwalking and welcoming kangaroos and native birds to her garden overlooking the Glass House Mountains.
