Krista Bell won her first writing award aged eight, but more recently was shortlisted for the NSW Premier's History Awards with 'Lofty's Mission'. She has studied languages, run a bookshop, worked for a publisher, and reviewed books on radio and in print. Krista travels regularly, giving writing workshops to young readers and adults.
Although Krista's family had ducks as pets for many years, an Inspirational trip to China gave her the idea for her 23rd book, 'Peeking Ducks'.
Sally Rippin is the author and illustrator of several books. In 2008 Rainbirds which was written by David Metzenthen and illustrated by Sally was Honour Book in the 2007 Children's Book Council of Australia Picture Book Category.
Sally studied painting in China and so was a perfect choice for this book.
Both author and illustrator live in Melbourne and work extensively in schools across Australia
